“I feel like the art of being a DJ is dead; no one cares anymore.” Tyler Szalkowski, State Champs
At this year’s Orlando Vans Warped Tour stop, we snuck backstage long enough to snag a few interviews with this year’s most compelling bands. Over the next five days, we’ll feature a different band from those sessions, starting with the red hot State Champs from Albany, NY.
On a scorching day in Orlando, we bounced around from stage to stage and took hundreds of photos. Over the past two weeks, we shared some with our Facebook fans and a few collections here on our website. If you missed any of them, here’s your chance, as we have everything linked in one convenient spot.
My first time seeing these lads from Las Vegas and they delivered a memorable set that had the crowd absolutely ecstatic. It was the most passionate I saw the crowd for any performance during the day, and these guys delivered a memorable, energy packed thirty minutes.
Crowd favorites, Sleeping With Sirens with a passionate set at Vans Warped Tour
I’ve seen The Maine before so I knew they put on a good show, but I have to say I was pleasantly surprised with their Vans Warped Tour set. They took the stage dressed in matching blue dress slacks and pressed white dress shirts, and then, the sharp dressed men tore it up. Front man John O’Callaghan was dynamic and engaging throughout the set, as he interacted with the crowd constantly. He was never more in his element than when he pulled a young man up on stage who had no idea what he was listening to.

These guys started in Tallahassee and kicked off their fun set with an homage to their hometown with the Seminole War Chant and a nice rendition of the Tomahawk Chop. They delivered an energetic set that entertained their avid fans.

Florida natives Mayday Parade impressed their fans at Orlando’s Vans Warped Tour.
The title just about sums up the experience. Despite the fact that Warped Tour has been going on for twenty years, this was my first time attending. The lineup had a few acts I wanted to see, and I was happy to see some other bands as well.
I just got back from my first Van’s Warped Tour experience and have to say that this is clearly one of the best run festivals I have ever attended. Whether you’ve been to a dozen or this is your first one, I think you’ll find a few useful tidbits in our Farmer’s Dozen of Warped Tour Tips.
