The 2017 Gasparilla Music Festival was a pretty rockin affair with a multicultural and genre-bending lineup of local and national acts. The two-day festival showcased better than average talent with some acts that have jumped onto my list of new favorite bands. Located on the banks of the Hillsborough River with downtown Tampa, FL as the backdrop, the venue seemed larger than the small Curtis Dixon Park that it encompassed. Throughout the four stages, there was nonstop music, sunshine, and warm weather to propel the vibe of the show forward.
Gasparilla is a party you do not want to miss. Following the weekend that features a huge pirate ship storm the harbor of Tampa Bay as a throwback to the cities buccaneer history, another party gets underway with the downtown streets set ablaze. The Gasparilla Music Fest is a two day festival scheduled for March 11 and 12 with headliners Ryan Adams, and Cage the Elephant. The festival has a penchant for showcasing more local talent from all over Florida.
