Ghost Show Review – Orlando
People were baptized in the church of Ghost on November 2nd in Orlando. The Swedish metal outfit gave communion to 500 + fans at the Hard Rock Live clamoring to be within the breath of the band, and they delivered one of the best shows I have seen in 2016. Ghost has spent most of the year traveling the festival circuit on their critically acclaimed Popestar EP behind the lead single “Square Hammer” a pop ditty, banger that hails satan in the process. Papa Emeritus III and the Nameless Ghouls play up the shock rock, but behind the robes and masks is a metal band with great songs, and an even greater live show.

Hey Orlando, Global Citizen announced a free pop up concert in the city this week in an effort to encourage young local voters to participate in next week’s elections. The concert features Ani DiFranco, Talib Kweli, Kaleigh Baker, NIKO IS, DJ BMF & more. Local music fans can catch the event at the Walt Disney Amphitheatre at Lake Eola on Thursday, November 3rd.

Cirque de Soleil’s Ovo Review
For the first time in recent memory, Orlando entertainment aficionados were treated to a traveling extravaganza from Cirque du Soleil. The legendary company brought their fantastically lavish OVO show to the cozy theatre setting at Amway Center. OVO is a sumptuous serving of creative, and sometimes breathtaking, acts focused on a kingdom filled with interesting insects and a mysterious egg (or ovo if you’re Brazilian).
