It’s been an interesting year for rock music. Lots of excellent new music in the Indie and Alternative universe, but Active Rock seemed to be taken over by non-melodic screaming music which to me just isn’t music to my ears. So, as you will soon discover, this year’s list definitely leans to the Alternative side.
For anyone wondering why so many aging rock legends hobble back on stage to reunite for the one final, or “this time we really mean it” farewell tour, take a look at the cash they were able to stuff into their deep pockets. With nostalgic Baby Boomers more than willing to pull a few Franklins from their wallets to rekindle their early life memories, plenty of classic rock artists are cashing in.
Welcome To Rockville is Coming To Jacksonville
We’ve been to the area’s premier hard rock event the past two years, and it’s always an amazing experience.

As in past years, the musical will be spread across three stages on the shores of the St. John’s River, plenty of local food trucks, some of the most eclectic vendors around, band autograph sessions, some super hip and cool fans, and new this year, The Monster Energy Welcome To Rockville Tequila World.
The new Monster Energy Welcome To Rockville Tequila World, with a Mexican fiesta theme, will feature a wide range of tequilas, extreme margaritas, gourmet tacos, mixologists and more. The expanded list of tequilas that will be offered in the Monster Energy Welcome To Rockville Tequila World is as follows: Cabo Wabo, Corazon, Espolon, El Jimador, Lunazul, Margaritaville, Monte Alban, Pura Vida, Siete Leguas, and more to be announced. Gourmet tacos will be provided by TacoLu Baja Mexicana. Admission to this area is free and open to those 21 and up.
The special guest? Metalachi–the world’s first and only heavy metal mariachi band who will keep the party rolling with three performances on the Tequila World stage each day. Get a glimpse of the personality of these entertaining performers here: http://youtu.be/XSWUcaJlD0E.
Also new in 2015 is the RISK interactive graffiti art installation. Kelly Graval, the multi-talented fine artist, illustrator, and graffiti artist known as RISK (www.riskrock.com), will be curating an interactive art exhibit to be displayed on site. It’s intriguing, contemporary art that everyone needs to check out.
