Moody Blues Enthrall Orlando Faithful

Moody Blues Orlando Show Review – CFE Arena

On a chilly Philadelphia night on November 20, 1981 my life changed.  Along with a childhood friend, I made my first trek to the aging Spectrum where we caught The Moody Blues on their Long Distance Voyager Tour – my first rock ‘n roll concert. Struck by the magnificence of live rock ‘n roll, I’ve probably seen 1,000 bands since that fateful night, as the Moody Blues sparked a flame in me that still burns strong today.

Fit For A King Show Review

Fit For A King – Backbooth Orlando 11/29/17

Solid State metalcore band Fit For A King took the stage at Backbooth last Wednesday for a sold out, and sweaty show.
Packed to the rafters, metal heads were out in full force to mosh and crowd surf their way through a passionate performance by the Tyler, Texas quartet.

The Big Ticket 2017 – It’s Alt About the Music

The Lumineers Highlight Strong Lineup as The Big Ticket 2017 Adjusts to New Venue

For the first time in memory, The Big Ticket moved indoors, and despite the excellent lineup, the change produced mixed results.  The one constant that remains is a festival highlighting some uber-talented alternative rockers, highlighted by The Lumineers, and a day with a happy, peaceful vibe.

Toadies – October 29th – Ritz Ybor – Tampa, FL

Toadies brought their Southern Gothic, twisted purple of punk rock to Tampa this past Sunday evening to a packed house in the beautiful Ritz Ybor in Ybor City. Toadies have always impressed me with their live shows. This was the third time I have seen the band, once in ’95 opening for the likes of Bush, and Hole, and once on the Summerland Tour with Everclear. I will say out loud that Toadies have stood the test of time better, with better songwriting, than all three of those bands. Not because I don’t like those other bands, but because Toadies have always been a little off kilter with an original Texas sound all their own. I have always said that there is a layer of ‘boogie’ underneath all those sour notes and jaded stories, as if ZZ Top and Buzzcocks birthed a band.
