Self Help Fest Visits Orlando

Self Help Fest Helps the masses in different ways!

One day after the Self-Help Festival and I was in recovery mode. Yes, there was so much excitement over the thirteen bands that played, I was completely depleted of energy. I was storing energy before this event but I feel like I didn’t adequately assume how much I would need.

My neck is Still sore from Together PANGEA show!

Together PANGEA Show Review

How can I philosophically and soundly tell you how great the show at The Social in downtown Orlando was on September 23rd? The high punk energy of the bands could give a person one clue about this lineup and let me tell you, I was loving every minute of it and so was the crowd from start to finish.

Astari Nite Blinds Eyes with Soulful Performance!

Astari Nite Show Review

It’s an ecstatic moment when you find a group of people who excel at what they do and then they blow your mind by not only bringing back to life a long-lost sound but they improve upon it. Even in another life I feel as if Astari Nite would be as talented as they are now with the show I recently attended at Will’s on Mills (as locals call this venue, but for name’s sake the venue goes by Will’s Pub).

Descendents fight fear with music

Descendents – Who We Are

The proto punk-rock group, Descendents have released another wonderful piece of art with politically charged anthems called Who We Are. Upon listening, the first thing I noticed about the start was the lead guitar smashing up a sound that reminds of a Social Distortion song mashed up with some riffs reminiscent of beach rock you’ve heard from a band like Rebelution. The drums on this track are simply smashing with a nice punk beat.

Astari Nite Brings Goth New Wave Back!

Astari Night Features New Music on Upcoming Florida Dates

In order for me to describe the song, “The Girl Who Tried,” I would have to take you back to a track called “The Boy Who Tried.” Released in 2014 by a band called Astari Nite, off of their EP Anonymous, this song starts with a low frequency gritty rumble and makes it’s way into synth sounding electronica with a nice heavy bass and drums.

Switchfoot Heads to Florida on the Heels of Where the Light Shines Through

Have you ever listened to an artist your whole life and then when you hear their newest album it shakes you to the core wondering where this magnificent different sound came from? That would be the question I asked when I first heard Switchfoot’s latest album, Where the Light Shines Through.

A Dedication to Chester Bennington

Linkin Park’s Chester Bennington Touched Many Lives

To be completely honest, I don’t know of an accurate and appropriate way to start this piece due to the recent events surrounding Linkin Park’s front man. Chester Bennington (RIP 1976-2017) was a light in my young life, someone who wore his heart proudly on his sleeve and broadcasted to the world, with an open mind, the anguish that follows mental illness.
