Break A Leg Kid – World War Me
Let’s kick off this week with a frenetic new track from Chicago’s World War Me. Paced by breakneck guitar riffs and full bore rhythms, this one is more punk than pop. The catchy music is juxtaposed by poignant, angst-filled lyrics. Bottom line: It’s a damn good debut from a band dripping with promise.
Singer Stephen Krypel definitely has a few Billie Joe Armstrong moments on the song, both stylistically and lyrically. He offered this introspection, “‘Break a Leg’ is a song that details my path to becoming the person and artist that I am today and examines the hardships of being an artist and the beaten path one must take to get there.”
The debut album from World War Me hits the streets on October 6, on SharpTone Records.
