SOTD: Bluebirds Over the Mountain

Robert Plant with Chrissie Hynde – Bluebirds Over the Mountain

Here’s a nice little treat for your Tuesday morning.  Today’s Song of the Day features two iconic rock ‘n roll voices creating some rock’n roll magic.  Legendary Led Zeppelin front man Robert Plant teams with Pretenders vocalist Chrissie Hynde for a slick new tune from his forthcoming new album Carry Fire.

This version of “Bluebirds Over the Mountain is a creative re-imaging of the Beach Boys hit from nearly 50 years ago.   The song kicks off with heavily distorted guitars before transitioning to a magical duet with two legendary rock ‘n roll voices.  The track evolves nicely to a crisp, fresh, strings-driven rocker.
