Imagine Dragons – Live at Allsaints Studios

Imagine Dragons Release Acoustic EP Live At Allsaints Studios

Earlier today, Imagine Dragons released a new EP featuring a few acoustic tracks off of their recent Gold album Evolve, and one cool and unexpected cover song.

The new EP, out on KIDinaKORNER / Interscope was recorded live at Allsaints Studios in LA.  The selections are acoustic, but not exactly unplugged, as we immediately learn on the first track “Thunder” where we hear Dan Reynolds playing around with samples on his keyboard.  The result is a pretty interesting take on the single.

Check out the video from the session for a better taste:

The next two tracks, “Believer” and “Whatever It Takes” are definitely stripped down from the popular versions which have dominated alt-rock radio the past few months.  I felt that “Whatever It Takes” really translated well to the new format.

The final track was a nice surprise as the boys from Las Vegas provided an interesting twist on “Hand In My Pocket.”  It’s a creative re-imagining of Alanis Morissette’s 1995 classic.
